Changing cable on Bristol valve

I donít know if this has been mentioned here but I replaced the cable on one of my gray water tanks with a Valterra cable. The old stranded cable had frayed at the handle and was routed Wrong. I thought Iíd post this because I read somewhere that this couldnít be done.

How about letting the forum know the steps you took to replace the cable, where you got the replacement etc. maybe a pic or two so that others can learn from your experience.

I added this fact to the forum because I searched for this answer and couldn’t find any info. It’s pretty straight forward. I don’t have any pictures but I just took the cable out of the old valve and replaced it with the new cable the same way the old cable was attached. I cut off about 1/2” of the solid inner core and changed the black handle with a gray one I ordered. I had to drive out a roll pin from the black one to remove it. I ordered both of them off of eBay. I did have to remove the wall beside the wet bay to get access.
