City Water connection

This spring when I went to my camper to open it up and flush lines I noticed my pump wasn't pressurizing up the system. I look out the window and see water squirting out just below where I filled it. Apparently the City Water relief valve had broken... I asked around here and it seemed like not a bad job to replace, especially since my camper sits 2.5 hours from my house and I have no tow vehicle. So for about $25 I was able to change it. Below are a couple of pictures to show how easy it really is. 3 screws, a hand fitting to replace the city water connection valve. I also used some teflon tape and the putty tape. I did spend an extra $2.50 for a plug that screws in. I had also bought the garden hose valve in the first picture the week I had the problem. It leaked but worked to keep the water from squirting out. 10 minutes. Just thought I would put this here for future reference.

Thanks! I used the stuff in the last picture called Hatch installation kit. Its like a putty thats flat and i worked it around the hole then tightened it all down. Not sure if I need to put some silicon there or not. Seems plenty sealed.

Was it broke from freezing?

Many times, when water shoots out of there the valve simply needs to be reset.
It happens OFTEN when people are winterizing...and they push on the needle valve (under pressure) to bleed the pink stuff through.

I have not examined the malfunctioning one. But I did try to "poke" at it and reseat it and it never did seem to seal up. I did push it in the fall under pressure though... whats the trick to reset it?
