Sounds like you need a gasket.

Most likely the old one fell out at some point or it is collapsed to the point where its not sealing.

I needed 2 gaskets on my black water flush turbo port to make enough room for the check valve I put on the hose to keep it from leaking.

I agree..... sounds like gasket problems. Either it is gone, or maybe not slid up as far as it needs to be.

get the gasket with the screen. thats all I will use for filling the fw tank or if at a site with water. I found pipe dope in it from one campground, and I always let the water run before hooking up. seems like there is always some debris in the screen.

Totally agree with this statement.
ALWAYS run water thru the hose before hooking up to the trailer so any garbage will flow out as well as any old nasty waster left from last trip in the hose.

Leaking water input

Thanks for the inputs. Had already replaced the washer, even doubled up and this did not work. I am now running without any washer and the leak is considerable reduced. I am considering some teflon tape now to see if I can eliminate the slight leak. Does anyone know if there is a brass replacement for the fitting on the RV?

Take your pick there are plenty types available. I bought one here, they're close to my house but they ship anywhere. Or just use it for a reference.

Some likely a bad city water inlet.
I've had two factory inlets go bad. I replaced them with a B&B brand, part # 160 85 A26. No mo leaking.
