City water rubber cap replacement?

I realize it's minor but the little rubber cap/plug that goes on the inlet
when you aren't using it has gone bad.
It's gone soft and sticky and kind of reminds me of an old piece of gum!
UGH.
I can't think I'm the only one with this problem.
I saw another one just like mine laying on the ground next to the water
spigot in my last camp ground.

I wonder if anyone knows where to get a replacement?

I will need to replace mine soon as the entire socket is cracking.
They are pretty cheap to replace.

I would send you my cap when I do, but mine is as icky as yours.

Amazon.com: Valterra Products, Inc. T1020-1EVP 0.75" Off White Carded Male Thread Hose Plug with Strap: Automotive

should do the job.

Camco makes them, our local RV store has them. So do a number of other stores, that carry RV items, in our area. All under $5.

I'm a gardener and have various combinations of hose watering timers and
tons of drip irrigation and hose end repair pieces etc etc.... I've found hose
caps-- that screw on the male end of a hose but have not seen the opposite
sex. I need- we all need a male hose plug. Those are not found in the
garden hose accessory isle of WalMart or my local hardware store.

Where did you find yours??

Neat!! I tried their search engine but must not have used the proper
key words as I came up with more expensive items.

Now change topic sort of-- I'm using one of these hex socket adapters
from harbor freight
3 Piece Hex Drill Socket Drivers
and a 3/4 el cheapo socket to run my jacks via craftsman battery drill.
This combination works OK but it's 2 piece so every once in a while the
socket goes missing---- I usually find it hanging on the last jack I used
it on
I wouldn't mind having one of these one piece driver sockets to do the job.
Camco 57363 Amazon.com: Camco 57363 Leveling Scissor Jack Socket: Automotive

The only one I can find at camping world is a fancy chrome version that's
$9 bucks.

Being a cheap skate I'm not gonna spring for that one but if you guys run
into a $5 or $6 version with free shipping I'd like to know about it.

You can try epoxy and it will not release from the adapter/socket. It may, after some time come loose, but for a few cents of epoxy just reglue it.

Blowout plug

I use the Camco blowout plug. Double duty, keeps the crud out and then when winter rolls around it does it real job.
