Cracked water tank

Ok, problem du jour with the 2015 Sunseeker 3010DS we just brought home May 22nd. Sanitized, flushed, and filled fresh water tank early this week (we used "city" water for MDW; full hook-up) and yesterday the bedroom carpet was soaking, squishy wet. Took it in to the dealer and they found a crack in the water tank by the fill inlet. They want to take it to a car dealer who does work for them for the crack to be "fixed" (with something non-toxic, I hope).

Should I permit this, or hold out for a new tank? We're already losing one camping weekend (paid in full, unfortunately... bye bye, money) and I'm sure if we order a replacement tank it won't be in for weeks. Our next two trips after this lost one are full hook-up, so we'd be on "city" water anyway. Anybody ever dealt with this problem? Thanks!

My son had a crack a few weeks back in his fresh water tank down by the suction fitting on a new Silverback. The unit was new, so we wanted and got a new tank. There are plastic repair options available that sometimes work and sometimes don't work very long. Your tank does alot of flexing during use ... if it is a new unit, I'd want new replacement parts not a "gosh I hope this fixes it" repair. A missed camping opportunity just has to be taken in stride sometimes.

Thanks, I agree completely. Unfortunately, I just got a call that they "fixed" it and it is on its way back to the dealer for testing. I guess I fall into the "gosh I hope this fixes it" category now. The punchline? We may have already missed our camping reservation anyway. *sigh* Thanks again very much for the advice!
