Damn Pur water filter... Again...

the canister is leaking badly again. This time if the water is on... Around hour 12, it leaks out the threads. I noticed the O ring is a little larger than it should be. Need to replace the O ring in the filter housing. I can get it to hold water if I wrap the threads, but damn it's in a bad location.

I truely hate this filter housing. When we get home from this trip, it's coming out of the camper for good.

Plenty of people do just that (taking it out completely) and using an external filter.

I use both, but would not hesitate if it was leaky and I didn't want to repair it. So many more important projects to keep me busy than having to deal with a leaky filter housing.

Best of luck.

I had the dealer bypass the filter.

Yeah as soon as we're back, it's getting bypassed.

I hear ya !!!!!! We just a week or so ago got finished removing the onboard filter unit, bypassing it and going with an external filter, after experiencing numerous leaks around the O-ring. Didn't matter how tight the filter housing was ! My suspicion is that the O-ring stretches slightly, probably after de-winterizing, although we started experiencing the leaks almost right from day one of owning this trailer.
