Did my Faucet Die?

A week ago the kitchen faucet slowed to a trickle then came back to life on its own. Today we noticed a leak just under the solid surface countertop. Tightened up some connections now the faucet is at a trickle again. All other faucets are normal. Did my faucet just die? Or is it repairable. If its time to replace what do I need to watch out for? Faucet is a Dura single handle with spray feature. TIA.

Remove the spray head to check for blockage at the screen.

X2 on the screens - took ours out 2 weekends ago to de-winterize etc. and our kitchen faucet was doing the same thing.

Pullout type so had two screens - both had become clogged - cleaned with a small scrub brush - all better.

Best place to start for tracking down the issue.

Spray head on mine had two screens - one in the very end of the spray head and there was another where the spray head connects to the pull out hose itself.

Sounds like you have the spray head off - make sure you keep track of how / order the pieces come out of the next section - take the items out of the end of the hose that screws up into the spray head (assuming it is similar) - should be a white plastic piece / rubber gasket and screen assembly.

Once those are out try the water again - have to make sure the hose doesn't drop back through the assembly to under the sink.

If it was a spray head (screen) problem then shouldn't I have normal flow with it removed? My flow is down to a trickle with the spray head removed.

Mine has two - one in the very end of the spray head and the other in the end of the connections that go into the spray head - i had to remove all and just have the hose with straight connection - then i got good flow.

Buy a new / better faucet from Home Depot. I assume you have traced the supply lines back as far as possible to verify no kinks?

How old is your trailer / faucet?
Was it properly winterized?

At least on mine there is. Pulled sprayer off the hose and still had trickle. Took next section back off and found another.

Both mine had gunk in them I had to clean up.

Once I tested with both sections off had great flow from the hose itself so knew I had it narrowed down as well.

Disconnected water lines & checked flow from supply side & it was fine. Only thing left is the faucet. Went to Home Depot this morning & replaced it with a $98 model; alls well in RV land again. Thanks for all the help.

You probably could have pulled the cartridge (the actual faucet valve) and cleaned it and all would have been good. Often times the debris gets jammed in the cartridge and cuts off water flow.

Did my Faucet Die

Check the cartridge under the sink. I bet like mine it was clogged with those little white calcium chunks.
