Do you use a elbow on your water inlet?

So I have a Geo Pro on order and am ordering a few things in advance, the cheapest of which is an elbow to connect your fresh water hose to your RV, supposedly to minimize strain at the connection. Is this an important consideration? Is it worth the staggering five dollar cost? lol. My first thread here btw!!! The last thread on this is six years old.

I have an elbow on my fresh water hose AND on my black tank flush hose so each can drop straight down through a hole in the bottom of my water bay.

Yep defiantly worth it to avoid the strain on fresh water inlet. I have two one for fresh water and one for black tank flush. Later RJD

Have 2, one for fresh water and one for flush. They lasted about 2 years and have to replace them.

Yup. Matter of fact I also carry a two-way splitter because it comes in handy attaching an extra hose with a sprayer outside the camper. Much easier than trying to rinse things off with the outside shower...which is locked every time I need to open it...and the keys are inside...waaayyyy on the other side of the camper

Get a lead-free brass elbow. If it starts leaking then change the rubber washer in the swivel. They should last for years with normal usage.

Add me to the definitely use one list. It certainly takes some of the stress off the wall inlet fitting.

Yup!

I've got the brass ones from Camping World or the Walmart RV section back by the auto department.

Plus, I bought in to the brass quick connect hose attachments from the Walmart garden department...

Makes connecting everything plumbing to the outside of the trailer much easier.

Plus I use all of those same fittings at home, so everything jives!

I use the elbow on both as well. I also use the quick connect that stay connected to the RV inlet. They use plastic threads and the metal on the hoses can mess those up so the quick connect lets me screw into them once and never have to again.

I should note that I have a 5th wheel and my connections are "inside" and I have the little screen on the washer so bugs don't go doing bad things.

I only leave the quick-connect nipples attached to the side of the trailer while I'm on the road...

Once parked back in storage they come out to keep the bugs out of the water inlet openings.

Mark me a positive on the elbow. Both the fresh and black tank flush. Also love my quick connects on both lines.

Not just the wall inlet but less stress on the hose end fitting too. Most are formed tubing with a rolled ring inside the hose. I have more than one hose that I've either had to replace or put a repair end on due to this rolled edge starting to crack and spraying water up and down the side of my trailer. Us the elbow, especially if you are also hanging an inline water filter off the inlet fitting.
