Angry Dometic 320 Excessive Leaking

This toilet is a replacement for the original. The brochure (and dealer) says;
"water may continue to trickle into the bowl for up to 20 minutes after flushing. If water trickle continues after 30 minutes, replace the water valve."
The intended reasoning is that a small amount of water in the bowl provides a seal against unwanted odors. The reality is that I now have to dump my tank every 6 days, instead of (formerly) nine. It's not just a pain in the petoot but costly for additional chemicals.
Does anyone else have this issue and if so, please share any info/suggestions/etc.

I've never seen one 'trickle' for that long. A few seconds, but not minutes.

I read the manual and sure enough it says that it can trickle for 20 minutes.

How much water is collecting on top of the ball each time?

It fills the bowl about 1/3.
Haven't actually timed it. Who would do that? How would you now when it stopped?
The trickle is virtually unnoticeable, except for the results in the bowl.
Am reasonably sure that it doesn't exceed the 30 minute term required for warranty replacement of valve. Not sure if a new valve would improve the issue anyway.
