I would have taken the offer of the 310 but I was afraid of the offset difference from the wall.

I hear that, I was thinking the same thing.......the extra inch and a half with the 310 puts the top of the toilet that much closet to the back wall, however the 310 fit the 300 base on the floor, and the water supply, perfectly, no alterations needed. Anyways, the main thing is we have a toilet that works properly!

Got my upgraded 300 the other day. Waiting for the snow lo melt and install it on Friday night after work. The weather here has been from the low 30's to subzero temps. We are having a heat wave this weekend (50's) so it's a great time to spent some time at the campground.

310 issue

Just to throw my 2 cents in. We had the Dometic 310 for a couple years and were fighting the odor issues off and on the entire time. It came to a head on our last trip. The 310 is two piece and the base and bowl were separating, this coupled with urine getting trapped inside the toilet was causing the smell. I removed the toilet, not a pleasant experience, but could not tighten the two pieces. We had to replace the toilet and have had no odor issues to date.

I forgot to follow up on my previous post. Took about 20 minutes to install. Was out camping last weekend and all was well. Was at the 12 hours of Sebring race a few weeks back and our potty was a five gallon bucket with a luggable Loo seat. The Dometic 300 is a definite upgrade. Lol. Opted not to get the 310 due to fit issues.

Glad to help out but the credit goes to other thread folks who got me pointed in the right direction. I have to say the creaking and squeaking of the plastic on plastic when your lower end is firmly seated is a issue but it's not like your there for too long. Gotta make sure you have plenty of Aqua Chem in there too not to mention a good rinse when you get the rig packed up. I bought one of those clear back flush tubes to hook up to the sewer line and attach a those to it (not your white hose). I have seen a few use their fresh water hoses and it makes me cringe. Get one of those flex hoses that shrinks when you turn off the water. Packs up real good. There is nothing like a fresh black water tank to start your camping experience!

I appreciate the information on the toilet. We are on the road up the ALCAN and had the same issue with a toilet that smelled like an outhouse. I called Dometic, and they are shipping one to Whitehorse, YT and I will install it there.

I joined this forum because I am having the same problem with my Dometic 300 toilet. I bought my 2013 puma 26RLSS in February 2013 . Two days later the smell was there and I could watch the dirty water slowly seep into the bowl. I told the dealer about it and their response was I didn't know what I was talking about. I broke my arm a few days latter and that was the end of my RV days that summer. I took out my RV last week same problem. I started researching myself and found this forum. I called Dometic today and sent a email to their customer service. I did not get the Same response that the others on this forum got. Told me I need to take it back to the dealer(the ones who think I'm an idiot ) Any help?

Take a photograph of your toilets serial and model number and e-mail it to Diane at Dometic Sanitation. Just remember not all situations will get the same solutions as some of us. In my case it was a new TT with an older model 300. So far I have no issues with the upgraded 300 so far.

Finely got to the right person at Dometic. I received an email from
Heidi McClain. Heidi verified that the had problems with some of their 300's. They are sending me a new 300. I think I will take the old one down to the RV dealer and put it in his office and tell him when it starts to stink it's all in his imagination !
Thanks to this forum my problem is solved !

Good for you. I found they have excellent customs service. I crushed my old one at the dump. No more issues.

Dometic 300 problem

I got my new 300 today will put it in this weekend. Dometic has great customer service. Wish my RV dealer could learn from them. Your customers perception is your reality, even if you think your right.
Thanks to this forum, problem solved.

That's great to hear. They made me happy too. Good customer service is what brings back more customers. Too many American companies don't get it.

Dometic treated me great as well. I had 2 of the 300's in my 2014 Heritage Glen 356QBQ and they sent me 2 new toilets no questions asked and they are working flawlessly and I am using my 5er full time.

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Forest River Forums mobile app

Stinky 300

Got a new 310, not the plastic stinky one and took my next trip... NO MORE STINK it works great. Incidentally, duck tape the holes in the rear of the 300 until you get the new one, it stops the stink until you change out the new one....

I want to thank all of you for this valuable info. Our 2014 tt has been on 3 trips and the ammonia smell inside was toxic - it made my eyes water. We tried all tricks we could find on line, the Calgon softener, ice cubes, bleach, vinegar, checked the vent and nothing worked. Last Sunday as a last resort I hit the web and found this site. We ripped out the toilet and it was FOUL!!! Called Diane at Dometic (told her she was reaching rock star status on this site) and a new toilet will be here Thurs. However - it's a new, improved 300, which had us concerned. We decided to order a 310 from CW and are going to sell the 300. Thanks, again!!!!
