EcoCamel Jetstorm shower head???
After spending a week in our new rig I've got a "to do" list a foot long!
(Maybe not quite that long but more than a day's worth fer sure)
One painfully obvious update needed is shower head replacement.
I know lots of folks around here have touted the Oxygenics but I just read
an article in June Trailer Life mag about one called EcoCamel Jetstorm.
The writer installed one and loved it. He made it sound pretty darn good.
Has anyone here tried it yet???

mine is on the way!
I read that article too....have not yet taken a shower in my new unit so I will never know how sorry the oem handle is. my shower is not a tub and so have put the tall drip guards home depot] in plus the shower curtain holders [from bed and bath] plus I ran silicone beads everywhere at the joints in the stall. I want to minimize wet floors and splashings and any slow leaks or mold behind walls...

I was/am also unhappy with my 12v pump. (that's another story for another thread)
I visited the Ecocamel website and sent a question re:what is minimum GPM for reasonable performance.
They wrote back 1.5 gal per min. I think my pump will do that but still plan to replace it eventually.
I'm going to order their shower head with shut off also.
My shower stall is 1 piece molded fiberglass with triple slider glass doors.
It's a shame the mfg installed such a nice shower in a nice large bathroom and
then installed a 29¢ plastic piece of junk shower head and faucets.
My outside shower is better than the one in the bathroom!

Follow up-- I called the EcoCamel folks and spoke to a very nice lady with
a definite British accent. She told me their shower wand does not include
a wall mount "hook". She said I'd need to get that somewhere else.
That put me off just enough that I opted for the Oxygenics hand held.
It arrived a few days ago and I installed it yesterday. Gotta say the
Oxygenics shower wand is fine and works much better than the cheapie
that came with my rig BUT I am VERY disappointed in the Oxygenics
hose!
Wow- the EcoCamel hose is actual metal wrapped flex hose. VERY flexible.
The Oxygenics hose is cheap stiff vinyl hose with a silver strip painted on
to make it appear to be metal wrapped. THAT was disappointing!
I actually called the Oxygenics hot line to voice my displeasure about the
stiff hose and after I mentioned I got it at Amazon she said
"Amazon is NOT an authorized seller of Oxygenics products and since I got
my shower from Amazon my lifetime warranty was void".
REALLY?!?! I told her I did not get it from a 3rd party seller thru Amazon
but rather it was sold and fulfulled by Amazon. She persisted that my
warranty was void.
Who does that??? Who voids an advertized lifetime warranty because
you bought their product thru Amazon.com??
Wish I'd got the EcoCamel now..... I could have got by with my old
mount.
Rant mode off....
Happy Trails!

Could you return it and get the EcoCamel? Amazon has an excellent return policy.

I would e-mail amazon and see what they have to say about the warranty. I would find it hard to believe that amazon is buying them under the table.

I would just send it back. Go online and start a chat, tell them it's defective and they will issue a return shipping label. They will take back just about anything, then you can purchase the one you want.

I was also disappointed in the hose. Gonna live with it though. Kept the original wall mount in place for tall people. Added the new mount a bit lower and toward the corner for another option for shorter folks. It also holds ok in the hose ring. But yeah, that hose is stiff as can be. The swivel action of the head is handy.

Thanks- I just might. Gonna think about it for now....
Son getting married Saturday!!!
Letting my brother and family stay in our new rig as a guest suite this
weekend.
After the weekend when I have a minute I'll probably do that.
The shower wand is a definite improvement over the original.
The hose is NOT.....

If it's just the hose you don't like you could also do something like this.

I posted a review on Amazon telling that Oxygenics would not honor the
warranty since it was sold thru Amazon and they are not authorized seller.
Amazon just sent me this--
"Thanks for submitting a customer review on Amazon. Your review could not be posted to the website in its current form....."
THAT's how you get only good reviews on Amazon.

Maybe I'm the oddity- I kept my factory hose and just replaced the showerhead.
Timex will be along shortly to tell you about my luxurious mane.

I used OEM hose with oxy head and added a shut off valve. OEM hose is fine, especially when compared to oxy hose.

I bought the Oxygenics and love everything about it except the leaking shut of valve. when you use the shut off on the lower part of the head, it leaks pretty heavy.

Follow up on the saga of my shower wand!
Happy Ending!! The good folks at Ecocamel somehow ran across this
thread and contacted me personally. They sent me a free Ecocamel Jetstorm
shower wand, super flexible hose, shut off valve and a fancy vacuum wall
mount to park the wand when using as non hand held.
Wow! The hose is totally wet noodle flexible- really.
The wand is light as a feather and produces a larger pattern soft spray than
the Oxygenics I now wish I had my money back on!
I give them 4 stars and two thumbs up.
If you're going to upgrade your shower wand I recommend the Ecocamel
hands down. Both brands have decent performance but the Ecocamel
has super hose and it shuts off all the way. I know that will result in a
slight temp change when the head is turned back on but I prefer it over
the Oxygenics which does not shut off all the way and dribbles all the while
the faucets are on.
Also purchased new "chrome" washerless faucet with bottom hose
fitting. My original had cheap white washer type faucet with the hose
fitting out the top. This caused the hose to do an S turn up from the
faucet then draped down and back up to the shower head.
Wonder why the faucet wasn't bottom fitting all along??
We're ready to really use our new rig with it's large shower and plenty of
fresh water capacity!
Thanks Ecocamel!
Happy Trails!
