Electric Water Heater?

2018 microlite 25brds there is a switch to turn on either gas or electric water heater. I have tried the electric switch but it doesn't heat up. Gas works. Am I missing something or is this used another way? Just to keep already hot water heated?

You need to post make and model of WH.
Some have the electric switch outside, on the WH.
Some have the electric switch inside, near the propane switch

Yes. I missed the tiny switch on the water heater myself. Hidden behind some part I couldn't see from where I was standing.

See if this FAQ link may help if you have the Suburban brand.

Don't turn on the electric switch unless the water heater is full. The electric element will burn out fast with no water in the water heater.

Glad you found the answer you were needing here.

Didn't your dealer go over this and show you how the water heater functioned during your PDI/Customer Orientation of a 2018 unit?

Unfortunately not and I didn't know any better to ask the question. Lesson learned. Thanks.

Don't feel alone. Many dealers fail to properly explain the operation of the hot water heater. This is why we have such a detailed FAQ about it as linked to in post #5. I probably refer to that thread in helping new members 3 times as much as any other thread.
