electric water heater toggle switch

So this past weekend hooked up to water, checked an wh tank was full, and flipped electric toggle switch to ON. Next morning we realized had no hot water. Checked switch again and it was stuck in the ON position, could not be moved to off. Almost like something got too hot and melted switch. Breakers all fine. Turned LP on and it ran fine with gas. Any thoughts?

Can you pop the switch out to look behind it?

Those switches are notoriously hard to switch back n forth.
Luckily my unit has an internal switch.

Have you checked the distribution panel breaker?

Have you checked for power at the heating element?

Have checked the reset buttons?

Can you fire it up on gas?

From the day we picked it up we never had electric HW, but had LP HW. Had the unit at the dealer's last weekend after the rear stabs failed and had them check the HW at the same time. Turns out it was a faulty switch that they replaced.

Sounds like mine came from the dealer with the same failure yours experienced. Dealer took care of it no charge.
