Eternabond to the rescue
I have been having problems with a leaking sink, l first replaced the sink drains which l used plumbers putty, l thought l had it repaired l did not see any leaks for a few weeks, it started leaking but l could not find the leak only the evidence of a leak so l considered condensation since the water heater is under the sink and we have been having cold weather, later it appeared to be leaking around the drain, so l took the drain out put new plumbers putty and made sure the drain did not twist while I tightened the nut on the drain, no leak for over a week. Then what appears a small leak, l preceded to repeat sealing the drain but while puttin pressure on the drain to seal plumbers putty l noticed several cracks in the bottom of the sink starting at the drain outwards. Our trailer was used when we got it, so l have no idea how this happened, the sink is plastic could be just time and use for the trailer is 10 years old, we full time so l needed a fix till the replacement sink gets here because l had to order it, l was thinking how can l fix this, temporally, Eternabond, it keeps water out on rubber roof repairs, want hurt to try, so far it's not leaking. So add one more use for the amazing Eternabond.

Can't believe a sink that looks that nice is made from plastic. I put in a new cabinet under our stainless sink. I had to replace the chromed brass drain because it had corroded enough that it had a crack at the flange part of the drain tube and it split when I undid the collar nut and the piece at the bottom of the drain broke out instead of unthreading. I found out that if you tighten the flange ring too much that it distorts the rubber gasket ring it will leak, even with plumbers putty between the flange and sink bottom. BTW, the bottom of the sink may look like it is made from plastic but it has a black rust proofing like coating on it. The only part not coated is the rim of the sink that rests on the countertop and where the drain fits.

You are right about the over tightening of the drain nut, it's almost a happy medium, not to tight but not to loose. My sink doesn't have a coating it looks the same on both sides. It's definitely a form of plastic, l can bend the part that is cracked with ease. The sink is made to resemble stainless but it like the tub in the bathroom just a different color with a gloss coating to make it shine. I ordered a stainless sink to replace it but it will be next week before it gets here.

What size is it?
The link I posted is double bowl and is a plastic sink. While is says "stainless steel color", it is plastic. Forgive me if I'm not understanding what you are saying.

I have got to remember to highlight the post l am responding to, yes your post shows a plastic sink, my old sink is 24 5/8 x 17 1/8 . The stainless sink l have coming is 25 x 17. Thanks for posting, l wasn't especially wanting a plastic sink but rather one that fit without having to modify the cabinet or the drain lines, l did find one but it was a light color with only a little over 4 inch deep sinks, the one l have is 6 inches deep, if we just camped in our TT that would be ok, but we full time. The real reason for the post is to share what my problem is ( a cracked sink) and the temporary fix with Eternabond, because Eternabond seems to be a nessesary if you own a TT or RV, lol. This site has been so helpful to me and the quick response of people wanting to help.

I don' t understand why you want to fix it permanently with a stainless sink. I would think you would replace it with a plastic sink so you could fix it in a year. I'm sure they probably aren't made like they were 10 years ago.

Lol, Rich5117, l am sure they are not as good as 10 years ago. Heck, if l wanted to fix it in a year l would coat the whole sink with Eternabond, Oh wait, if l coat the whole sink with Eternabond l will probably never have to fix it again, lol. Joking aside, just finding a sink that l wouldn't have to redo all of the drain lines because they wouldn't line up is my biggest concern, the counter space is going to restrict you to certain size to.

I'd be surprised if that Eternabond isn't good for 20 years. Nice quick fix!
We did a similar fix to our plastic laundry sink at home except I used the handyman's secret weapon, duct tape. It's been holding for over 5 years now.

Looks good but please tell me you did not reuse the original plastic POS faucet in that nice shiny new sink? Oh wait, you needed something to fix next year right. Keep that eternabond handy.
