Exclamation For Test Purposes Only

Not too sure about plastic water line fittings, PEX and such...

My vacuum breaker the ole B&B 571 on the black tank flush, leaked water all over the bathroom floor.

I disconnected the water lines from the valve and want to TEMPORARILY for test purposes only, want to just install a union in the line where the B&B 571 was...

Water lines have nuts on them that threaded onto the bad valve... what do I look for as a union that will work with the seals on the PEX lines?

As in if I go to Home Depot or the like what would the union size or thread be called that I need?

I will use a new vacuum breaker inline as soon as the test is complete.

Thanks!

1/2" short pipe coupling or nipple.

For 'test' purposes it can be plastic, brass, chrome or black pipe.

You can also use a 1/2" male pipe elbow to keep the same configuration as the backflow valve.
