Forest River Screws

Pardon my ignorance, but this Wildwood T22RBXL screw takes either a #1 or #2 square head screwdriver, right?

Usually a #2 square head (Robertson) screwdriver.

It's a number 2 Robertson(square) but you should also be able to use a number 2 phillips.

X2 - I would employ the Robertson before the Phillips.

Thanks guys, but Robertson screwdrivers have a plain square head. Isn't there a tool that also fits the little recesses at each of the four corners of the square hole in the screw head? Is a square recess screwdriver what I need? I tried a Phillips but it just destroys the recesses.

It is a number 2 robertson If you use a number 1 you will strip the hole. A number 2 phillips should have worked. If you used the wrong size screwdriver you will strip the screw head. You have to use the proper size tool or you will damage the screw.

both robertson #2 and phillips will work. These screws are rusting very fast and the paint on them become faded and flakes quickly. I replaced all my outside screws with stainless steel screws. Each screws were resealed before installing them.
