Fresh/Gravity Water Inlet on 2014 Heritage Glen 272BH

I just took delivery of a 2014 Heritage Glen 272BH. It has both City water connections and a fresh water valve. However both are threaded for a hose connection. My past camper just had a capped filler.

Is this normal for new trailers? I have never seen this before. Anything special I need to know about filling? We usually camp at spots without connections and so fill up at fresh water stations, many times with a hose without a threaded connection.

Thanks!

Take along a "hose mender" that will allow you to put threads on the hose, or take your own hose.

When pressure filling like this, you can rupture your water tank or damage it's mounting straps so it's important that you fill (at pressure) only until the tank level gauge says it's full. If you really need every drop, you can then turn the flow down to slow and wait for it to run out the vent.
