Fresh Water System Odor

Our '06 Lexington MH's water system has this yucky smell to it. After camping a couple times I took a look inside the tank and realized it needed to be sanitized. (learning as we go). So I did the one cup bleach and let it sit for about an hour and then drained it twice. After our recent outing, once again my wife says that water smells yucky when washing hands or dishes.

The questions are:
1. How much more than a cup of bleach is safe to use to sanitize the fresh water tank?.
2. Another thread contributor said to let it sit 12 hrs, do we run the water through the pipes and let sit for 12 hrs there too?.
3. How often do you sanitize the tank?....I empty it each time we come back from a trip to try to avoid the stagnation, but residual water remains on the bottom, should I pour a small amount of bleach in the tank to keep it from stagnating and do the flushing and refilling before going out again??....

As I'm typing, I'm thinking I'm answering my own questions, but I'd like to have some feed back from some of you more seasoned rvers regarding this annoying issue
Thanks in advance......

Herk's got a good write-up on the sanitization process here:

Going to dewinterize.

It's what I used when I santized my tanks this spring, and what I used the second time after being a campground with brown water. (Muskegon KOA if anyone's interested.)
