Fresh Water Tank

Yesterday while setting up, I hooked up to "city water" and turned the faucet on. Not thinking, I forgot to switch the lever on the trailer over to "city water". As a result my fresh water tank over filled. Well that's fine, there is an over flow line and water was leaking out. The real problem is that I heard two pops. And now I have a hugh knot sticking up in the middle of my living room floor. What could have happened?

I would start by looking to see if the full FW tank has broken the support brackets.

Have you noticed water leaking under your unit from any place other than the overflow tube?

The "overflow" is probably a vent, sized for air flow, not water flow. Once the tank filled, it expanded and pushed the floor up. Have a dealer check for damage.

I have an idea for an overflow safety system that would both cut off the flow of city water and the water pump if any of the tanks (black, grey or fresh) read full. You will have the ability to manually override if you desire.

Look under your unit, there should be an uncapped tube that water will flow out of if the tank is over filled.

Yes air will vent out as the water displaces it but once the air is gone water will flow out of it.

Someone posted here recently that some trailers have very little space between the top of a flexible FW tank and the floor. Soooooooooo, when the FW tank overfills, it bulges at the top and can have enough "lift" that it can raise the floor.

Correct.

Because the size of the water supply going INTO the tank exceeds the size of the VENT tube EXITING the tank, pressure can build high enough inside the tank which causes it to expand, which then causes the floor to bulge above the tank and possibly bend/break the support brackets below the tank.
