Fresh water tank

Just returned from three nice nights at Salt springs in Ocala. They have full hook ups there and i was connected to their water system. I noticed i had water dripping from my pet cock valve on my low drain point. Mystery is, I've never used my fresh water tank in two years of ownership.

I'm talking a steady....steady....drip. Turned off water to camper and within minutes the drip stopped. Somehow, water from city water hook up is finding its way into my fresh water tank !

Any thoughts on what would be causing this ?

Thanks in advance for any replies !

The check valve , part of your 12V water pump is defective. The purpose of this valve is to prevent city water from being fed back into your on-board water tank.

VTX-AL thank you for the reply.

Can you tell me where that would be located ? And is it a easy fix ?

It is internal to the pump in most RV water pumps.
Some models can be rebuilt. Cheaper ones just get replaced.

That is true. Just be sure the M/F fittings are in the correct direction.
