Fresh Water tank fell out 2018 wildwood

2018 wilwood x lite towed it less than 300 miles no water in the tank
on the Ohio turnpike this happened October 8 2017 .

Called the dealer he told me to bring it in at the dealer 10/11/2017

Now the run around they say no tanks available Forest River
The tank manufacturer does not have any available
it is now 1/26/2018 and we do not have any answers

What do you think is a reasonable amount of time to get this resolved?

Sorry for your issues and I hope you get it resolved.
I'm going to say your dealer is giving you the shaft.

There have been many reports here where the dealer blames FR but the factory never knew anything about the issue once contacted.

Have you spoken with anyone directly from FR?
Their web site contact page has all the email addresses and phone numbers for each division.

Now to answer your question... "What do you think is a reasonable amount of time to get this resolved?"... two weeks!

Like has been said, contact FR yourself. They actually will respond back.

There is no way that there is not a tank for a current production model. Extra, maybe not, but with the time that has already been invested, I would bet FR would get you the tank.

And last, with this length of time involved, and "no" tank available, I would bet you could have lawyers lined up to help you. Easy case.

... and don't just try to contact the Forest River corporation. Start with the Wildwood division warranty department. Wildwood built the unit. Contact them first.

That time has come and gone very long ago.

X2 to HandDiver's post. I am just going to read this one as I don't think my comments would be appropriate. Who is the Dealer?

Find the Forest River Wildwood regional sales manager and contact them. When I had a issue He was very quick to respond back and got the ball rolling between Corp and the RV dealer

Www.forestriverinc.com/contact us.aspx pick the region you live in

Good luck!

X2 what 5picker said. I have an outback, by KS, and had damage to the rear of the trailer. The complete rear cap had to be replace. Ordered, shipped, installed, painted, 3 weeks. A tank is much easier.

To the OP: Please don't do this. Then we'll have to close this thread.

Took the Forest River factory tour last June. There were enough tanks stacked on the lot to build thousands of units. Can't believe they used them all in six months and didn't make more. Was the dealer CW?

Fresh Water Tank

I had the same experience with my Vibe fresh water tank and a delay getting a replacement. The reason given for a two month delay in receiving a replacement tank from FR was that the tank along with other parts were being stowed inside a new FR trailer in the process of being delivered to the dealership. To avoid having your tank drop again have the dealer install 2-inch wide nylon straps under the tank in an "X" configuration that attach to the frame.

My money is on the dealer lying to the OP.
This is a common dealer tactic to put off the customer, by blaming the manufacturers.

They don't make enough on every unit to pay a little shipping. Any longer than 2 weeks is BS.

There is zero excuse for this (excuse my Dutch) BS, dealers take delivery of new trailers almost daily and I know our dealer has FR throw parts in new trailers to be shipped to save on shipping and it usually is quicker too.

IMHO, a few rotten dealers can easily wreck the good reputation of a manufacturer - not just in the RV industry.

Report the tank falling out to safercar.gov. Let the feds document the problem or there can be no recalls.

Search here and see this has happened enough that some have their new camper FW tank braced before they use it.
