Water that is highly clorinated will stinklike sewage . I would run fresh water through it draining it see if that clears it up. When city flushes fire hhydrant they stink to high.heaven.

Thanks for the tip!

I believe the key is the minerals in our well water caused this issue.

20 some years ago when we had our home built,,, a guy I knew that was installing our softener knew how picky I was about clean vehicles,,, ask me if I wanted a soft water faucet in my garage ??? That is one of the best things we own !!! That is the reason we are able to fill our MH with soft filtered water !!!

Amazing! Exactly the same thing my DW said! I also reminded her that she is always asking me "Don't you already have one of those?" Now I am going to respond "Yes, but remember the socket for the WH?" Thanks, I am off to the hardware store!

I never add water to the fresh water tank unless it is city water. I always ask at the camp ground office about the source of their water. If it is well water, no thanks. I always use a water filter when adding water.
