Fresh water tank overflowing

Odd thing happening this week, my fresh water tank began to “backflow” from the inlet fill tube. After reading a few forums, some experience this issue while the city inlet is connected. But, in my case, the city water was turned off and fresh water used for several days. So being overfilled isn’t an issue. What would cause water to “percolate” from the fill tube? Also the capacity gauge hasn’t dropped below full.
Weather conditions range from 25° to 60°.

Thanks for any recommendations you can provide.

Water in the vent tube will cause that. You need to burp the tube. Best way I've found is to take a half inch hose and place it firmly against the vent and blow.

you fresh water pump has a one way check valve sounds like it went bad. To get by cut line after pump out in a shut off valve I did mine this way been that way since . When you need the pump just open the valve.

I’d agree, but he said city water was off...

Fresh water tank

How is the filter on the water pump? It could have some back pressure from the pump pushing back on the tank if clogged. Simple to try unscrewing the filter at bottom of pump, empty fresh water tank 1 st.

Thank you tundra 2014. I will also give that a try. It seems a vacuum has been created somewhere in the system that is causing this. The challenge is finding where.
