GEO Method - How Often Do You Use It?
Last Fall I used a combination of the geo method, a tank wand and lots of water to clean my misreading black tank sensors. Hoping to avoid that this year. Just wondering if you use the geo method each and every time or every second, third, fourth time...? I know it won't hurt the tank if I use it every time but it's not always easy tracking down the water softener when you're using 2 cups per tank per use.

We use the Geo Method every time. Works well for us but Calgon is getting harder to find up here.
Based on a recommendation from Herk7769, I'm also doing a RV Digest treatment on both black and grey tanks this Spring.

Blue Streak is a system that adds chemicals to your black tank every time you flush.

I have found Calgon in Canadian Home Hardware Stores.. Their web site might not say that it is in your local store, but i have found it there anyway. It is usually in the laundry detergent area

Does anyone know any other Generic or other company's products that do the same as Calgon?

How much Liquid Calgon does everyone use? I have seen recommended amounts from 1 Cap full up to 1/2 Cup.

I also use the geo methods every time I flush my tanks. 1/2 cup of Calgon, bleach and laundry detergent. Seems to be working pretty well. Although my black tank fill indicator still reads full when it's not. That usually reminds me that it's time to use the black tank flush.

Thanks for this advice...we haven't been doing anything but throwing tabs in and using the power rinse for the black tank. The GEO method makes a lot of sense. Will give it a try.

We only use a cap full each time we treat.
But... with usually just the two of us, over a long weekend, the tank rarely gets more than 1/2 full.
Full timers that fill the tank completely before dumping (or an extended stay somewhere) might have to do differently.

Thanks for all the replys ! Moving forward, I'll guess I'll go with using the geo method every time. By the way, any comment on powder vs liquid Calgon (I've only used the powdered version)?

I'd like to know too. We bought the liquid because we couldn't find the powder.
