Girard GSWH-2 Fd Freeze Protection

We have a 2018 Cedar Creek 34RL2 with the Girard on demand water heater. We’ve been full time for about 6 weeks with zero problems from the water heater. Yesterday was our first cold snap of the season, 31 degrees. Last night my wife turned on the bathroom faucet and the control panel came on as usual but displayed “Fd” and then went off. Since then we have no hot water and the water heater doesn’t come on when any faucet is turned on.

I’ve read the manual and figured out that “Fd” is freeze protection, cold weather mode, but have been unable to get it to fire the unit. I’ve powered it down from the user panel, RV control panel and from the water heater itself, nothing changes. Have plenty of LP, shore power and city water with plenty of pressure. Currently it 48 degrees and it still doesn’t light...HELP!

You might can reset the system by doing a hard reboot. Unplug the camper from power and then disconnect the negative cable on your battery and wait one minute and then hook the negative cable back up and then plug your camper back in to electric power. I would try it

Turns out it was trash or something in the impeller of the flow sensor.

Turned a faucet on, turned off the WH at the unit and gave about a dozen love taps to the side of the flow sensor area, flipped the switch back on and the unit kicked on and we had hot water.

I also have a flow sensor on order to have on hand in case I have any other trouble.
