grey water

Can someone tell me if there is a hose that I need to hook up for my grey water like the black water? Where is the drain hose? I have a 2011 cardinal. Thanks

Usually there is one 3 inch hose, but there are two dump valves. One is about 3 inches, and is the black water drain, the other is sometimes a smaller valve, (same size handle), and is the gray water drain. They both get dumped out of the same pipe. Some trailers have a gray tank located in such a way that there is a separate dump connection. Not sure if you have this or not. A description of 2011 Cardinal is not much. Model number would be more helpful. You also may want to move/post this in the Cardinal section.

It is typically the same flexible sewer hose that you also use for your black water. On some campers, both grey and black water are released from the same outlet location but controlled by separate release valves. Most people drain the black water first followed by the grey water. This allows the grey water to help flush out the heavier "sediments" from your flexible sewer hose.

My guess is that you have two separate outlets on your unit. So you would first drain the black water. A good idea would be to lift the host, a small section at a time starting close to the trailer then moving toward the ground drain. This helps empty the hose a bit more and prevent any embarrassing and unintentional black sewage emissions onto the ground (or yourself) . Then connect the sewer hose to your grey water outlet and repeat the process. Again, the grey water will help flush the black water from the hose. Many people also rinse the sewer hose with fresh water after all tanks are drained.
