Had to replace sink faucet on trip

Turned the water on in the kitchen, it ran for second then it stopped. I could hear water spraying under the cabinets. The hose that comes from the mixer valve to the faucet output had come loose. It’s a cheap little plastic clip that’s on the copper line that broke, I thought. Closer examination revealed that one side of the line was broken also.
I’m familiar with these clips because I broke them under the DW sink. Plus I knew these clips couldn’t be found on a Saturday evening at the big box stores. Bought a knew faucet, bit my lip and smiled. Lol.

Here’s a pic of the clips and hose end. Suppose to be 2 of the Little tits sticking up and 2 sides to the hose.

Easiest thing for me to do was buy 1/2” pex sharkbite valves. At least I have a valve under the sink now.

It looks like the junk made by Price Pfister for Home Depot and Lowe’s. I make lots of money because of those “Homeowner-Friendly” connections.

Yeah, somebody before you replaced the cheap, junky factory faucet with an even cheaper, more junky Home Depot/Lowe’s version Price Pfister faucet.

One of the first upgrades we did with our Sunseeker was to replace the kitchen faucet. Yes, we bought it at a box store, but it was not cheap. Having dragged and driven campers for over 50 years, we wanted something that would last. So far it has. But the problem is, how much do you have to spend to get quality? Just about all of it come from you know where.

A month ago we replaced a shower drain cover. We had to buy the PVC drain fitting to get the cover we wanted. The shower is in the spare bedroom suite and is only use for company. Before our son and DIL came up to spend a week over Memorial Day, DW cleaned the shower with the same cleaners she has used for years. Our son asked me to take a look at the shower drain cover. We are pretty particular and replaced the cover because it was 13 years old and was beginning to show signs of rust. In a matter of weeks, the finish on the replacement was much worse that what had been there for the life of the house-total trash. It is truly like throwing money down the drain.

The kitchen faucet in our 2011 Georgetown failed in less than one year. It was replaced by the dealer under warranty. I replaced the bathroom faucet with a Moen unit that served us well until last Summer. There was nothing wrong with it but I needed a faucet that I could turn on and off without touching any handles.

The great Moen was replaced with a motion sensor faucet that included an under the counter mixing valve, allowing me to set the water temperature once hot water was available at the faucet. I also replaced the aerator with an adjustable low flow multi-stream one that cuts the water flow to 0.5 gallon / minute or less. My medically required hand wash which takes around a minute and a half now uses around a pint of water.
