Hand flush toilet handle

My TT toilet has the little grey hand flush handle on the back corner....and I don't like it at all. It's hard enough maneuvering around in that bathroom without having to reach over to activate that aggravating thing....are there any options, add-ons or new words I can learn...aside from changing out the entire fixture?

I'm thinking about tying a string to it...(the handle)
