Hard to operate dump valve
If you have a hard to operate dump valve, I have a fix. When flanges for the dump valves were installed the glue that was used (yellow in color) to glue the flanges to the pipes had a over run that collected in the bottom of the flanges causing the glue to protrude past the edge of the flanges where the valves bolt to flanges. This causes the excess glue to press against the neoprene seals which causes the seals to pinch the gate of the valve as it slides back and forth. This causes the valve to be hard to open and close.
The fix is simply remove the valve, use a box cutter or pocket knife to remove the protruding glue that sticks past the flange surface. This will free up the gate in the valve for a very smooth operation when you re-install the valve.
It would be also advisable to lubricate the neoprene seals and gate surface with a "O" ring lubricant.
