Help!! Can't find this mystery fitting...

Need help finding the fitting that's circled in the photo. It started leaking thanks to a park with surging water pressure and once we got to a better park, the damage was done. I sent the photo to a local supply store and the answer, no kidding, was, "Bro, I've never seen that before." It leaking right where the brass meets the plastic female connection.

Its obviously a slip fit brass elbow with a plastic female threaded connection to the back of my water heater but I am struggling to find a replacement!!

Thank you to anyone and everyone who might be able to help.

If I had to guess...I say 1/2FPT swivel x 1/2" pex 90 deg. One could get a "shark bite" for the pex end if preferred.

BTW you will have to clamp/crimp the new hose back to the valve on the other end of that short hose. Amazon is cheap on the clamping tool.

If it's leaking at the swivel. Try replacing the cone washer inside. If they are overtightened the washer can push into the receiving nipple. If it's the crimp leaking then only one option replace.

The other posters were right, it is an adapter from pipe threads to pex. there is a rubber gasket in it similar to a garden hose. hand tight is usually good enuf.

10 years working for lowes and I hate plumbing. the red end is simple pex with a crimp ring the other grey threaded end i beleive is specific to campers/modular homes. Probably not going to find at a box store. (someone who really knows what they are doing might be able to rig a fix) may want to try a modular home parts/supply store if you have one in the area.

I have a place 15 min west of me that only deals in rv mechanical stuff. place like that would have for sure.

I'm not a betting person, but I would put a couple dollars on 1/2" FPT. They are all over RVs.

Everyone should use a pressure reducer when using water hookups. Never trust the campgrounds water pressure.

You should also be able tighten the connection or unscrew it and add a new rubber washer inside the connection.

help can't find mystery fitting

Any place that sells pex should have this fitting. Hardware stores, RV stores, on line. Fitting may not look exactly like the one you have but will function just the same. The rubber seal can be purchased separately. It appears the previous installer used teflon tape on the fitting threads. There is no need to use teflon plumber's tape on this type of fitting because the rubber seal does the sealing.
