Help! Forecast for 25 degrees tonight

We just got to Yellowstone on our first ever trip and the forecast is for snow and a low of 25 degrees. I’m at a full hookup campsite. I’m not sure what I can do to prevent damage from freezing. I plan on disconnecting water for the night and my fresh water tank is already empty. I can leave the furnace on and all the cabinet doors open for air flow, any other ideas tips?

Also I think I have tank heating pads? I have no idea what they do but I think the switch is in the bathroom because that’s the only switch I can’t figure out a use for.

You should be fine. Looks like forecast for West Yellowstone has only 7-8 hours below freezing. I would fill fresh tank to at least half full so that you have enough mass that it won't freeze. More water in your tanks will keep it from freezing up.
Try to figure out the tank heaters if you can. Keep the heat on and comfortable and the lower cabinets open when you go to bed.

Yep, you should be fine running the furnace and the tank heaters.

Remember, things don't freeze the instant the temperature gets to 32º.
It takes hours for the mass to cool down enough to begin to freeze and many more hours for things to get solid enough to cause harm.

Put water in your fresh tank and unhook your city water connection and drain your hose/regulator/filter. (if equipped)
Use the water in your tank to flush the toilet and so forth.

If you have an electric space heater, you can supplement your heat with that for the night. Just don't set it so high the furnace doesn't run as many rigs have ducting that helps heat the underbelly off the furnace.

Personally, I'd put some water into the fresh water tank so you are able to flush and whatnot.

I agree you want some (1/3 full) water in your fresh water tank.
Turn on the heater pads. You should be fine for an occasional below freezing.

BTW.....I always keep minimum 1/3 to 1/2 on board just in case of needing water while traveling AND, although it only happened once, our park lost its water supply to customers because of their pump failure. We had enough for our needs while it took over 8 hours to fix.

You never know.....even full service sites can have their problems.

Having been full timing for 16 years, the most reliable method we use when it drops below freezing is to let the water run in the bathroom sink (the kitchen sink splashes too much) just a bit more then a trickle. Here at Mesa Verde NP, it fell below freezing almost nightly up until the first of June
