I watched how he did it and it looks pretty good.

My only critique is that he is pulling the sensor through while the seal is still "squashed." This most likely will shear off the hard rubber of the seal as the sensor head is pulled through the hole. (and may damage the tank hole).

By leaving the nut on, and tapping the sensor towards the tank the sensor head is no longer squashing the seal and IT can be pulled through (with needle nose pliers or dykes) without the sensor head competing for space in the hole and then once the seal is clear the sensor head will come right out with no fuss.

His way seems more "forceful" but it worked for him.

There some people are drilling 3/8 hole next to sensor without taking it out.

In my case - I would have hard time to work on the very top sensor due to abstraction and limited space.

BTW - does anyone having trouble with Fresh Water Tank sensors?

I did not change my fresh water tank probes. The issue in the holding tanks is conductive slime on the tank walls. A good cleaning with a sanitizer will clean the fresh water tank buttons.

I think you should also consider capacitive tank-level sensing. See this: https://tankedge.com/ or this: http://www.rvgauge.com/.

NUWA is/was using the second of these and I was very impressed. The first is available from Camping World.

Yes, grease glob on sensor.
Installed flush unit in gray tank.
All good now.

Awesome so you would recommend these probes? I'm tired of the false readings in the black and grey tanks and will do this swap in the spring.

I do. Once you get the belly panel down (just do not pick a windy day) the rest is easy.

Remember that these sensors do not eliminate regular tank treatment (Calgon-Detergent); just makes them harder to foul.

I watched the video on the Tankedge sensors and I'm impressed, I never knew they existed... It would only make sense to have the tank sensors outside the tank so they never get fouled. Plus the sensor reads in percentages, not in 1/3 or 2/3 increments which leave you guessing.

I also like the panel readout, plus the ability to set tank level alarms, ie: 85% for holding tanks and maybe 20% for fresh water, etc.

These are going on my upgrade list...

I would love to know how it works out for you. My concern about the capacitance indicators was adhesion. I would hate to have one peel off while in the boondocks and have no idea about how my tanks were doing and no way to fix it.

My boss has these on his mh .
They scuffed the tank lightly and used a thin flexible epoxy.
No issues that I know of.
Been on there for 5 years.
Just some info

Not the same brand either but similar.
