Hot water heater

When I de winterized my trailer I flushed the anti freeze from the lines, opened back up the valve for the hot water heater and fired her up. Heard water go in, heard the gas igniter, but I'm only getting a few moments of hot water out of it. Any ideas?

SHUT IT OFF NOW!

I doubt the tank is full and if you are using 120 you may have fried your element.

You need to close your bypass valve at water heater, see picture of valve arrangements...

Last year I had a problem with the cheap valves they give you. I "closed" the bypass valve. The handle moved to close, but it didn't really close. The water heater would heat up the water in the hot water line for a foot or so, then when I turned on the hot water at the sink, I'd get a few seconds of hot water and then it would get cold. Sounds like the issue you're having. The valves in the pics above look a lot better quality than mine.
