Hot water heater
How often do you drain the hot water heater?
I currently drain the heater every time we finish our trip. We normally go several weeks between trips.
Thanks,
Randy from Texas

I don't have a WH, but I am curious as to why drain them after each trip?

If water has any impurities in the water it could make the water smell

My TT, including the WH, get used about 70 days in the summer. The trailer is never sitting unused for more than 2-3 days in the summer. I don't drain it until I winterize it in the fall which is when I flush and clean it out and check the anode.
Just wondering if people drain their home WH when they go away for 2-3 weeks.

Whenever I move. 10 gallons is 80 lbs. U know what shape ur an anode rod is in too.
Helps to clean the tank too. Just have to have a system not to make a mistake and burn up element.

I try not to carry FW from stop to stop. Maybe just enough to do a pit stop. I change my anode and flush once a year. Just having the best part of my (our) life now!!!

Once per year. Checked the anode before winterizing and spring commissioning and haven't needed to change it.
We treat the water and haven't noticed any smell. The TT only gets used 2, maybe 3 times per year.
