Hot water hooked up to toilet
I recently purchased a 2017 Forest River Forester class C. The dealer is a few hours from my home, so I'm trying to figure out all of the mistakes on the RV. Hot water is in the toilet rather than cold. The hot and cold faucets in the bathroom are backwards also. Can someone tell me how to fix that? Thank you!

The faucet will be easy. Buy 2 - 12" braided lines from home depot. Remove the existing lines from the faucet, add the braided lines and reconnect to right sides.
As far as the toilet goes, have not heard of that on here so that is new.
Is the line blue but the water is actually hot to the touch or is the line red with cold water?

Besides the above possibilities, there was a thread here about the hot and cold lines being switched at the water heater. You might want to look there and see where the lines are connected coming out of the tank.

This could be a good thing!
Think how baby soft your skin will be from the steam rising off of the hot water in the toilet bowl. This could actually become a new price point feature for FR...

Finally glad to hear I was not the only one !! In 2005 I bought a new Coachmen Class A. It too has hot water to the toilet. They sent tech out to my location and he rectified the mistake. Although it was not a speedy repair, took him few hours.

Maybe the tech was from Alaska. Many houses up there have hot water to the toilet (at least they did when I lived there in the late 80s).

Now I have to go check mine out. Could never figure out why the toilet screen got clogged with what looked like residual from the hot water heater anode. Never thought to check if the water in the toilet was hot....

Not saying your isn't plumbed wrong... but... most times... when what looks like debris from the water heater gets into the toilet valve or faucet screens it is because folks tend to open the low point drains (between trips) and the suction of the water coming out the low point drains pulls debris from the bottom of the water heater tank into the plumbing (from the cold supply line) where the debris collects in parts of the plumbing to then be pushed throughout the system on re-pressurization.
It's best to close the bypass valves on the water heater if you are in the habit of opening the low point drains regularly.
The water heater should only ever be drained by removing the anode rod (with the bypass valves closed) or the drain plug. It will save you a lot of headaches.

I'll have to pay more attention at the end of the season. Only time I open the low point drains is at the end of the season when I'm winterizing. They probably get opened around the same time I remove the anode rod to drain the hot water tank, but I don't remember whether I close the bypass valves before or after I drain everything. Thanks for the tip!

Crap... lol
Don't let that though t get back to FR design engineers. they have enough problems trying to explain how a door handle on a medicine cabinet can be adjusted when there are 2 simple single holes drilled into the door.

My Question is how in the world did you come to know that it was hot water? I have never checked mine to see if it was hot or cold. Maybe I should. LOL!

That will come in handy if you clog it up, won't have to heat water on the stove to pour in the toilet.

Install a check valve in the water heater feed.

There's already one there in the form of a valve.

That won't prevent backflow of sediment into cold water system when air at tank top expands during cold water drawdown.
