On gas power or on electric power?

If electric, the elements are fried and will need to be replaced.

If gas. I don't know.....

Hopefully nothing too major. Hope you did not use electric before filling with water. Also hope you let it cool before filling with water. The heater (gas) would have heated the empty air space, sensed it was hot and shut off. As air is sort of an insulator, it may not have cycled very much during the 1.5 hrs. You "should" be OK.

If you drained the water while in camp and the power was on , ya the element is toast. If only the gas was found on while on the road, not big problem. Remember, there is no electricity while on the road.

we have a check list for leaving posted next to the radio in our Roo.
covers everything including the electric WH switch and the red toggle for the propane side of the WH.
never leave a campground without going through the list.

To late this time but if you only turn the electric on the water heater 30 minutes before you need hot water and then turn it off when you are through using hot water that wouldn't ever happen. That is what we do and if I didn't I would forget and leave it on. Good Luck
