Thanks for clarifying the model year. You have a totally different floorplan than the 2006 that I posted pictures of. (I really like the floorplan but that small radius shower is a show stopper for me.)
Your problem is definitely not unique. I agree that they should provide an easily removable panel to give you access. It’s one of the things I take into account when looking at new trailers. If they didn’t give you an easily removable panel, it’s not a warranty item so FR likely won’t reimburse you, but who knows. It’s a mod that you have to either do yourself or have someone else do. If they charged $36 it probably took them less than 5 minutes to do. A good dealer wouldn’t have charged for such a simple 5 minute mod like that.

Should have been demonstrated during PDI. Problem would have been solved then.

I assume you’re asking about changing your signature. Using a web browser, click/tap on “User CP” in the green line at the top of the page. Then scroll down and click/tap on “Edit Signature” on the left side.

You should see what I go thru to access my WH. I wish all I had to do was cut a panel. [emoji3]

Folks, we are camped here at the campground at Tom Johnson/Camping World. We knew it would rain this weekend and it has. More leaks.
The service advisor came over to look at them.
I mentioned the panel situation. He said in this model, there should have been three screws to take out in order to access the water heater. This was put in in a more permanent way.
He said he's pretty sure he can get it handled as a warranty issue, which is what the other service advisor should have done!

I'd be 1000 times more concerned about the leaks along with Camping World being the one to fix them.
Again, best of luck!

With both my 5th wheels, first Rockwood then Flagstaff, I think they are manufactured to make it difficult for you to winterize your self. Winterizing was not part of dealer's instructions given to me at purchase of new 2017 Flagstaff. I had to find water heater bypass, remove thin panel held with 2 staples, and put it back with small screws.

Personally I think they should take those impact drivers away from them guys. I had table bases pull off the first-time I pulled the table off. My sliding door didn't even make it home from the dealership and it was on the floor. There is so much more. Some times I wonder if I hit a big bump that all I'd be pulling is the trailer frame. Actually not even to confident in that. You should see the welds. Lol.

Many of us have to remove something, a panel or a drawer or something to access water heater valves. I'd be surprised if anyone gives you anything in return for this little job.

Agreed.

I just need to remove a drawer to access the water tank valves...I also order my parts directly from Forest River..it's a lot cheaper and also a better chance of getting the part you need...my dealer didn't want me to know that..I found the information online myself..Forest River were very helpful

My Flagstaff 5th wheel requires removal of two basement panels to get to the pump/winterizing valve and water heater bypass.
My dealer had the panels off at our PDI/Customer Orientation to show us the location and the process. They even asked me if I wanted to reinstall the panels to have that knowledge.
There are some dealers out there getting it right.
Many others do not and really don't know how to or even care to.

Hahaha 36 bucks? Good luck with that. How much is your time and frustration worth? Mine is a lot more than that. I'm on social security and 36 dollars is no where worth it. Save your bullets.

I have a 2107 IKBS I not only removed the panel in front of the water heater I also removed the top panel from the refrigerator vent on the outside - added a small fan at the bottom vent to enhance air flow and both work great. Self ingenuity!!

Good luck with getting any money from forest river. I had to have mobile repair come to my flagstaff 8528ikws cause the sink was completly coming off the under counter mount. It was only sealed on two sides. This is on a fiver that was only used once and was only 8 months old. So far i have been waiting since December 18, 2018 for reimbursment. Its now the 25th of Jan 2019.

At least you had an access panel. We went to winterize our Apex Nano 2 seasons ago and there was no cut out at all - went back to the dealer and had them fix it and also do a courtesy winterization. Missed at both FR and the dealer when doing their final checkouts.
