How to pour bleach into fresh water tank?
My fresh water tank inlet has a one way valve that prevents pouring any liquid into the tank. How do you get a bleach mixture into the tank?

You must have a fresh water inlet for filling your tank for when you are not on city water. Check the other side of your trailer?

Yes, I do have a fresh water tank inlet - that is the problem - it has a valve that only allows water under pressure to enter. How do I pour a bleach mixture into a closed valve?

Not the garden hose connection
the one you just stick the hose into
You have 2 fw inlets the city water one you connect your hose on.
The second one the hose just kinda pushes into it. You need to poor it into that one

Terrel,
What is your trailer model? Others with your exact model might be better able to help.
Are you certain there are not two inlets - one for a city water connection and one for the fresh water tank? These are sometimes together like in the picture above and sometimes spaced apart.
My trailer has two inlets for fresh water. One is the city water, which has a valve like you describe, and the other is the fresh water opening that has no valve. I use this to fill with a hose or with a funnel and a container if I need to.
The bleach mixture I use (1/2 cup bleach to every 15 gallons of FW capacity) goes in the second one.

Thanks everyone
I have a Wildwood T22RBXL with two water inlets - one for fresh water and one for city water. The fresh water inlet has a valve and threads for a hose. Maybe the city water inlet does not have a valve, and I can pour the bleach mixture into it? I'll check.

i think you have it backwards.
the threaded one is the city water and the one with just a cap, is the FW tank.
look at f1100turbo's pic.

Waste water tank inlet
I think Forest river messed up and put a valve on the fresh water tank inlet just like the very similar city water inlet. So, I'll just remove the valve, right? If I can get the tool to fit the bolts.

Sounds like you're looking at the city and winterizing inlets... Model and pics will help.

My XLR only has one threaded hose inlet. Next to the hose inlet is a lever that when turned, diverts the water from city, to fill the fresh water tank. Turn it back to city for when hooked to a water source.
The water tank will only fill with water pressure. I can not fill it with water jugs, or trying to pour any thing into it.
I too wondered how to sanitize the tank, or how to add water when dry camping.

I also have a XLR that has one threaded water inlet and a switch value. When I asked the same questions earlier, others told me to add the bleach to the fill hose before starting the water.

Assuming the OP is right that both have hose fittings (I doubt it like the rest of you)- there is something you could do to add bleach.
- Pour the bleach into a soda bottle.
- Make sure the hose you are going to use is mostly dry inside.
- Attach the soda bottle to the hose. It won't screw in, but you can hold the ends together.
- Hold the hose end and the bottle high and pour the contents of the bottle into the hose.
The bleach will now be sitting inside the hose. Hook it up to the trailer and fill it. I would recommend using two people for this to make sure the bleach doesn't pour back out onto your lawn.
Once again, please post a pic of what yours looks like. The last thing you want to do is assume you have sanitized your system; but haven't. (OK, last thing would be to pour bleach where it doesn't belong.)
