So, I'm totally aware of the black-first, then dump grey water procedures for emptying typical trailers.

AND, I have heard of the turd volcanoes that sometimes build up in the black tanks.

So, here's my question: Why don't RVs have a set up where the grey tank flushes THROUGH the black tank to help wash out the goodies in the black tank? Wouldn't a nice tidal wave of grey water help flush out the black tank?

I figure someone will have a logical answer to why......

I would think it's because you wouldn't want black stuff having a way to back up into a gray tank.

Everything ends up in the same place anyway. That's how I was brought up, no use crying over mixed food, it all ends up mixed in the end lol. I agree with Eric. Maybe you can tell us how that mod works out for you in the end

If you boondock you will be dumping the gray water far more often than black. Some campgrounds have "pits" that they allow the dumping of gray water, but not black water.

To dump gray through the black you would have to have the gray tank mounted very high. Bottom of gray as high as the top of the black. Don't think anybody would want a gray tank in their living quarters. I guess a really high powered pump could do it.

With your way of thinking why not (1) BIG tank. Most people can go for a full week before dumping the (Black). Most people fill the (Gray) real quick,but have a (Blue Boy) to transport to dump location. My vote is for (Separate Tanks)! Youroo!!
