well, I paid $80 in labor charges to find out my water heater element is ok. I specifically asked that if there is even a "TEENSY" bit of damage, replace it. RV tech insisted NO damage. The tech thinks that since I was filling my water tank at the time I turned the heater on, I must have walked inside and turned on the water pump just in time to save the situation. The tech said that if you turn on the water pump (I don't remember if I did or didn't....) the water pump will put a small amount of water in the heater (but not completely fill it until you open a faucet) that is enough to save the situation.
