Installing Another Check-Valve
It doesn't matter which side of the pump I install a second check-valve on, does it? There's much easier access on the right side of the pump opposite the inlet/strainer...
Correct? TIA

Install check valve on the inlet of the pump between pump and strainer if possible....see this thread.

Installing between the strainer and pump makes perfect sense. If I move the pump an inch or two to the right there'll be room to work. Thanks again fonzie.

Just make sure you install it with the flow arrow pointing the right direction. Absent an arrow just blow (hard) on one end or the other so you can determine direction of flow. Most of the ones I've seen have a female threaded end that will mate with the pump fitting and then the strainer will screw onto the other end. Trying to install on the other end will require a threaded coupler and a pipe nipple.

Thanks TitanMike. This is part of some deferred maintenance that I need to catch up on: check valve on the water pump and a shut-off valve behind the toilet. DW and I are getting ready for a trip from Colorado to Florida this spring...
Safe travels...
