Kinked Water Hose

Hi everyone, Another newbie here. I just bought a Forest River Vibe (258RKS) and i have been going thru it to familiarize myself for the upcoming spring. During the inspection of the hot water tank and how the valve system operated I noticed a kink in the water line.
I am looking to remove it and cut a section out of it, or replace it, but I am not familiar with the method to remove the "clamp" that they have used.
i have tried a screwdriver that would fit in the slot but it will not open.
the first pic shows the kink. The second pic shows a better view of the clamp on the white hose that is used on all the fittings.
Really appreciate some insight to resolve this.

They PEX clamps. Search YouTube for "remove pex clamps" and pick the method you're comfortable with.

Take a pair of wire cutters and cut the raised piece of then clamp will come off. Shorten house and use a hose clamp to reattach. Check for leaks. That looks like a PEX fitting and is not sized for vinyl hose so it may leak.

those clamps use a special tool and special clamp. Cut it and replace with a regular old hose clamp

Yep what #3 and #4 said, the hose is crimped because it was too long. Cut the clamp off with something like heavy duty wire cutters, shorten the hose and use an auto type hose clamp

Just FYI, PEX tubing kinks fairly easily. They make "corner supports" for the PEX tubing that will prevent the kinks - you may want to get one (or a couple) to ensure there are no future kinks.

Simplest solution might be to just cut out the kinked section of the hose to get the proper length then join the two hose pieces with a barbed hose coupling and hose clamps.

You've received some good advice and I'll try to add a little more.

Since the hose that is kinked is braided, you CAN cut off the existing clamp (a PEX band clamp) and use an automotive type worm clamp.

Should you ever need to make modifications to the PEX tubing (the red and blue stuff) you WILL need to use a PEX clamp. They are designed especially for PEX tubing and you do need a special installation tool. (they make several styles) Using worm clamps on PEX tubing will fail.

The reason the factory uses PEX clamps on braided hose is simply for speed. They have the clamps and the tools and since they are clamping PEX, they also use them for braided hose too.
