Kitchen faucet

Anyone have a easy fix for a very stiff and squeaky hot water faucet? Had the handle off because I thought I could just replace the stem. Removed the screw, lifted the plastic thingy, don't see any parts to replace. Hate to go to the dealer just for that problem. Hoping I could swap it with the outside shower but doesn't look like it.
Thanks for any help.
Bob

I replaced mine with a brand named faucet from a hardware store within a week of bringing my camper home.

OC, do you have any pics of how to get the tap apart so you can apply that grease? I have squeeky hot water handle on my bathroom faucet. I got the handle off but could see how get it apart any further.

I don't and to be honest I can't remember how they come apart, but it sure isn't difficult or I couldn't have done it. You will get it to where the internal unit comes out and there is an "O" ring in it that must be liberally coated with silicone grease.

Thanks. The Lowes up here in Canada didn't have any Danco Silicone grease so I picked up some Plumber's Grease from Home Depot which I figured was the same thing. But when I got home I realized the package says "do not use on plastic or rubber material."

I just checked Home Depot Canada's site. I bought Moen part # M6145 but should have gotten M6144

I think they all squeak on the hot side. My bath and kitchen faucets both do it. It depends on how much you can tolerate the squeak! Pretty easy to just replace it. H.D. or Lowes cheapest is still far better than what they put in these things new. Randy

Danco silicone grease will stop the squeaks.
