Thats ok I'm taping my power wire for the same reason, luckily just the outer black coating

I like to throw a bit of aqua seal on too to help fight corrosion. Or a shrink of its a larger wire size.

It's basically a sticky rubber tape that's real stretchy but is water proof. On wiring exposed to the elements, where a heat shrink won't work, I'll wrap it in aqua seal (not a brand name, just what we call it at work), then black tape.

What type of clamp was on the fitting & what did you replace them with?

Hey ate that right out of the middle of the hose, I cut the section out and just splice it back together with a brass male to male fitting.
