Leak on Memorial weekend!
So I got to my campsite today, filled up my camper and it appears my low point cold water drain is leaking. I didn’t have any issues two weeks ago on our trip. Am I suppose to use Teflon tape when putting on the caps? I didn’t do it last time and had no leaks. Perhaps it’s just threaded incorrectly. I’m going to mess with it tomorrow. It sort of seems like it’s coming from above the fabric that’s on the bottom of my camper but I will have to investigate. The leak stops when I turn off the water pump so I’ll do that tonight.

That stinks to have issues right from the start. I really hope it’s something simple like the cap. But if you can’t get a small drip to stop, and it’s not up in the camper but below, fix it after you go back home! You are already there and set up. Have fun!

The problem is I keep it at a storage place. I can bring it home if need be but like to be able to have my backyard driveway open.

My caps have rubber washers/seals like you see in the female end of a garden hose. They’re easy to drop in the grass!

This is exactly what it was. My hot water low point drain had one and the cold didn’t. It must have fell off at my storage site. I went to a local hardware store and found a washer that worked. Thanks! Now I have a flat tire on my bike I have to deal with!

The washers in my l.p. drains are a special cone shaped washer. Very easy to loose. You'd want to have a couple spares. The threads on those are not 1/2 npt they are 1/2 nps. Close but no cigar! Straight threads not tapered pipe threads, hence the need for the cone washers and most likely limited luck with PTFE tape.

I now have another leak at the hot water heater. It’s leaking from the hot water out line. It’s the top red line in the picture. Is there an easy way to fix this?

Sounds like a plan. Now my question is can I drain the tank from the faucet or do I have to drain it from the anode rod?

So is there a fitting that screws into the water heater that the pex is clamped to?

Does this fitting on my water heater just unscrew? It’s leaking where the clamp ring is so I want to unscrew it and screw in a new one with a sharkbite fitting on the other side to repair this. I tried with my crescent wrench but I didn’t want to break the water heater if that isn’t a screwed in fitting.

I read the manual and it seems it has to screw in. I’m bringing my camper home next Friday to try and fix this problem.
