location of hot water heater

I have a 2006 forest river cherokee 28 ft. I opened the side door where you should be able to light the pilot but I cant light it. I held the pilot button down for about a minute and lit the lighter and nothing. Is that the only place to light it. I alos made sure the propane was full and on

Make sure all of the air is purged from the lines, especially if the water heater is towards the back of the camper. Start a stove burner. Turn the furnace on. Turn the fridge on propane. That helps fill the lines with propane.
