Loud water pump

I am using on board water and I didn't realize the tank was low (out) until The pump began to get louder. I shut it down and refilled the tank but the pump, while pumping water, is still much louder than before.

Is the pump about to die? If so, any recommendations on where to get a new one? Should I even be concerned?

Thanks in advance.

Not too long ago, RV water pumps could be damaged if they ran for very long without water being pumped through them. They would heat up and damage the diagram. Todays pumps have been redesigned so this does not happen, they can be run without water passing through them. Since you have a 2013 RV, I would think you have the "new" design pump, however, that may be about the time the"old" design was still being installed at the factory.
Typically, if the pump is damaged, it doesn't pump water or the water stream is reduced.
Check the pump mounting screws to be sure it's still mounted correctly and not loose. Most pump noise comes from the vibration that happens between the pump and the surface it's mounted to. If it continues to work ok but make excessive noise, you will have a $100 decision to make--put up with it or replace!

I had noisy water pump in a previous trailer. It turned out to be vibration. I used rubber washers at each mounting point and it helped a lot. Easy quick fix if that's the problem.

FYI you can get a very popular pump
SHURflo 12V 3.0 GPM RV Water Pump 4008-101-A65 Revolution
on Ebay for under $60. New incl shipping. Lots of them... I have one!
But don't count yours out yet. My pump was noisy in my new rig until I
rooted out all the places where the plastic water lines were tapping against
various cabinet sides and walls, floors, etc.
It's possible you moved a line slightly when the tank ran dry and if you
can find the noisy culprit the solution could be as simple as a rag or piece of foam
stuffed in the right place.

Good Luck!

Thanks guys you were right again.
Pump was mounted on rubber bushings and they were tight but it apparently was vibrating against the wall

I replaced the connecting hoses that were hard pex with flexible lines which also helped with noise since it took out this part that also caused vibrations.
