Low Hot Water Temperature

First night in my new fifth wheel and the water is getting warm but not hot. I am at work right now with no manuals, just wondering if anyone new if there was a temperatrure adjustment on the Hot Water. My Jayco that I traded had no adjustment and would scald you if you weren't careful. My water is warm enough to shower in, but without adding any cold water at all.

It might be something as simple as your bypass valve being cracked open. Double check that 1st.

another cause is open valves on the outside shower.

Asking because I don't know .......
Will it feed water around the valve body?

I second (or third) the bypass valve. We camped all summer in our 2011 Surveyor that we bought in March. The water was luke warm but never hot. Wasn't a big deal as we were camping in hot weather but it was something I had on my list to look at more closely before the warranty is up. As I winterized last weekend and I took the panel off to get at the hot water heater valves, all three were wide open, apparently from the factory. I couldnt decide whether I was happy I likely found the issue for the hot water or a little foolish for not checking earlier.

Yep, I've had the same thing happen and it was the bypass crossover valve still open.

Okay, it is not the bypass valve. However I have made some progress. It is getting hot now with electric. However, the gas burner is not working. Is there a gas cut off valve other than the tank valves?

This is gonna sound stupid, but, you did turn on the water heater switch on your monitor panel - right ?? The switch should be lit (probably blue) when in the "on" position, the DSI led should come on "red" and then go out when the burner lights correctly. If it stays red, there is a problem with the DSI system.

Question

Thanks for all the advice on this. I don't know what I did wrong or right, but I now have the hot water at the temperature I was expecting.

From what I've read, the showerhead can be off, but if the h/c valves are open any amount, it can cause mixing of the two lines.

Remember: an RV is NOT like your home! The water heater in an RV is not nearly as efficient as your home water heater. Also think about the water temperature coming into the water heater. The colder the water the longer it will take to warm. Also the RV water heater is not insulated as well as your water heater at home.
