Low point drain valves

Had to winterize so I changed my low point drain pex caps while I was at it. Replaced with Zurn Pex Valves from Zoro Tools.

Thanks. I just did an overnighter with no hookups. Tried to shower and the previously full fresh tank was empty. When I looked I saw this.

No cap on cold water low point drain. Also, no valve on fresh tank drain, unless I missed it.

Since I have to get something, I might as well do the valves. Thanks.Click image for larger version

Yes. Look in the pex section. But I noticed the crimped in fitting is gone.

You will either need a crimp style valve, crimp rings, crimper tool or a compression fitting like this Flair-It 16892 Plastic Straight Stop Valve, 0.5" Size https://www.amazon.com/dpB000BQT694/..._h0D7BbGE9C5BA

I have found the crimp stuff at Home Depot and the flair-it compression stuff at ace hw.

Now I feel better, because I've done this on our previous trailer, and on our current. On the previous trailer, I cut out the cap fittings, and put in pex crimped valves. On the current trailer, I just replaced the screw on caps with screw on valves. Worked great for winterizing this year.

The blue line should not have any cap on it. It is the fresh water holding tank drain. It is opened and closed by a quarter turn valve usually in the water bay. The red line is the one and only low point drain. It should only be used when the water heater is in bypass mode.
