Low point drains

Can i use my low point drains to winterize my tt with the air compressor instead of city water hook up? These are threaded fittings so i can use the same fitting that i use for my in ground sprinkler system.

I dont think you can blow the water back thru the city water connection so the water that you blow back has to go somewhere - either in the tanks or the sinks.

Are you looking to just blow the water out of the lines or looking to add antifreeze also?

I just want to blow water out of lines

if you open the valves on the faucets and shower and have enough air pressure I dont see why you couldnt

dont forget you will probably need to do something about the hot water heater - like drain it and put it in Bypass so the water doesnt all go into the hot water tank prior to pushing air into the lines.

That's what I thought I will make sure I drain holding tanks and put anti freeze in traps

Important to keep the air pressure to about 40 PSI max. Open low point valves first and let as much water drain out as possible. After air pressure is applied, open valves and/or faucets one at a time, starting with the ones farthest from your city water inlet, and shut off each before moving to the next. Don't forget the outside shower, inside shower and toilet supply line. Lastly, open low point drains again to drain off any water that was forced there. I always leave faucets cracked open during the storage period.

Jeff,

Like Sherdep said, you MUST still blow out the city water check valve from the outside to get the trapped water out of the check valve. If you do not, you will most likely be buying a replacement city water port in the spring.

Also, if you have a Turbo-Flush, you must also blow it out to clear trapped water in ITS check valve.

Don't forget your water pump will not flush out from the low point drains because it also has a check valve filled with water that will prevent it from doing so.

Additionally, if you have a "whole camper" water filter, you will need to drop the filter container and remove the filter; drain, then replace it before you blow out the lines.

Herk.. If the trailer was winterized with the anti freeze method by sucking anti freeze through all the water lines and the waterheater was bypassed and drained would the city water fill and black tank flush still need to be blown out ??

Ps you can also manually pop the city water check by removing the screened washer and pressing the white plastic check valve stem. Hold until the pink antifreeze comes out.

Matt, dumb question, perhaps, but does the 2306 have low point drains on the water lines? I can't find them on my 2306, and the manual is about as useful as teats on a boar. Thanks,

on my 2011 2306 - it does - Mine has Black caps on the Red and Blue Hose - I will verify where they are at but if I remember correctly they are near the Tank Drain (Drivers side Rear) - I will verify and post back
